It was love at first sight when Melissa tried her first yoga class 35 years ago to manage stress at work. She has taught for 30 years and feels blessed to have studied with many brilliant national and international Iyengar yoga teachers, including at the Iyengar Institute in Pune, India. The awareness, alignment, stability and strength of Iyengar yoga have helped her to manage physical imbalance due to scoliosis, heal sports related injuries and navigate the many transitions of life with some grace, resilience and humour. The concentration developed through an Iyengar yoga practice can help transform your yoga into meditation in action, bringing vitality to the body and calmness to the mind. Recently Melissa discovered that she loves to dance and completed a 2 year Core Connexion dance certification. Core Connexion dance is also a practice of awareness to listen to your inner body, the breath and movement with music. These embodied practices help you to develop presence, health and happiness. Melissa welcomes new students and likes to infuse her classes with fun, self-exploration and self-acceptance.
