Join us for a special 90-minute community gathering as we come together to honour and celebrate two meaningful occasions: International Yoga Day and National Indigenous Peoples Day.
This class is dedicated to connection, movement, reflection, and community care. It is open to all levels—from first-time students to experienced practitioners—and offers a welcoming space where everyone can move, breathe, and practice together.
Together, we honour yoga as a practice that supports well-being, mindfulness, and unity, while also recognizing and celebrating the rich cultures, histories, and contributions of Indigenous Peoples. This is a space of respect, awareness, and shared intention.

About International Yoga Day
International Yoga Day is celebrated around the world each year on June 21 to recognize yoga’s profound impact on health, well-being, and human connection.
While every day is a day for yoga for dedicated practitioners, Geeta S. Iyengar viewed the United Nations’ designation of International Yoga Day as a beautiful way to honor the legacy and teachings of her father, B.K.S. Iyengar. The concept for an International Day of Yoga was first suggested by B.K.S. Iyengar in 2011.
For the inaugural International Day of Yoga celebration, Geeta Iyengar developed a thoughtfully designed sequence intended to be accessible to practitioners of varying ages, abilities, health conditions, and levels of experience. The sequence incorporates traditional asana, inversions, breath awareness, and meditation while explicitly encouraging the use of props when needed, reflecting the Iyengar tradition’s commitment to making yoga available to everyone.
